Thanks for your interest in Etobicoke Lawn Bowling! We’re excited to offer up to four free lessons to anyone curious about trying lawn bowling or thinking about joining our club. Here is our 2026 schedule for Free Lessons.  Just come out to one of the sessions below and we will teach you the ins and outs of this wonderful low impact sport.  We recommend you come at least 3-4 times to discover how you will enjoy the sport and our friendly members.
While our lessons are free we do ask that you let us know your coming so we can have enough coaches available for you.  Please click the button below to register for your sessions.

What to Wear & Bring
Please wear flat-soled shoes to help protect our greens. Dress comfortably and come prepared for the weather—a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bottle of water are all great ideas to help you stay cool and comfy while you play.


Arrive on Time for Maximum Fun
Showing up on time means you get the most out of your lesson—and we get more time to share the game we love with you and it also demonstrates that you respect the time of our volunteer trainers.

Lawn bowling is a low-impact sport that keeps you active and engaged. Plus, it’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
Lesson Details:
 Equipment: 
Don't worry, we supply you with all the equipment you will need.  Just make sure to wear flat bottom shoes that are friendly to our greens
Duration:
Each lesson lasts approximately 1 hour. 
 Minimum Recommended Lessons:
New bowlers should take at least 3-4 lessons. This ensures a solid foundation and helps you feel confident on the greens. 
Lesson Content:
Introduction to the Rink: Understand the layout, boundaries, and key areas.
Basic Rules: Learn the fundamental rules of lawn bowling.
Delivery Technique: Master the art of delivering a bowl smoothly.
Scoring: Get acquainted with scoring methods.
Hand Signals: Discover the signals used for communication during play.
Etiquette and Code of Conduct: Learn how to conduct yourself on the greens.
